Not as rare as you would believe. Sex work today is like any other business. A lot of these chicks learn the game (strippers/dancers, call girls/escorts, etc.) from their mothers, aunts, sisters! The dynamic of "learning from their mistakes" now boils down to "don't do this, you will lose money, don't do this you will get ripped off".
